LanMate Overview

LanMate is a desktop AI office assistant from Lansenger. It’s not just a chat box that talks back — you state what you need, and it gets the work done: from drafting official documents to organizing data, from building slide decks to sending Lansenger messages, all inside a secure sandbox where sensitive data never leaves your machine. On your desk, there’s more than a computer — there’s also a reliable “Lan Mate.”

This article covers LanMate’s core capabilities, typical use cases, how it differs from traditional AI chat, and how to get and start using it — so you can quickly tell where it can help in your work.

Core Capabilities

LanMate’s four core capabilities cover the full journey from “understanding what you want” to “delivering the result”:

• Understands plain language, gets straight to work: No commands to learn, no forms to fill in — just describe what you need in natural language. LanMate understands your intent, breaks the task into concrete steps, calls the right tools to execute them one by one, and hands you the result. While a task runs, you can ask follow-up questions, add information, or adjust requirements at any time.
• Secure sandbox — data never leaves your domain: All tasks run in an isolated local environment. File reads/writes and data processing stay on your device the whole time. Access to local folders requires your explicit authorization — unauthorized directories cannot be accessed. Session data is stored locally and never uploaded to the cloud. All operations are traceable and auditable, meeting the information-security compliance requirements of government and enterprise organizations.
• Native Lansenger integration: Direct connection to the Lansenger IM contacts and messaging channel. Send messages, find people, check schedules, and manage to-dos — all in one sentence, without switching back and forth between apps.
• Multi-format file processing: Read, generate, and edit common office documents such as Word, Excel, PPT, and PDF, and handle attachments like images and archives — covering the vast majority of everyday file types. When uploading attachments with a message, you can select up to 10 files at a time, each no larger than 50MB; files that exceed the limits are blocked at the file-picker level.

Use Cases

• Official documents and materials: Work reports, meeting minutes, official letters, research plans — give it a topic and key points to get a first draft, then refine it round by round with your feedback.
  • Example: “Draft a training notice for the whole department, covering the time, location, and how to sign up.”
• Data organization and visualization: Clean, analyze, and chart messy Excel data, and produce presentation-ready materials. Upload a data file and state what you care about — LanMate gives you charts and conclusions.
  • Example: “Analyze this Excel file and find the key trends and conclusions.”
• Presentation building: Describe the topic and audience, and get a well-structured, properly formatted PPT automatically.
  • Example: “Write a PPT outline on the annual work summary for company management, for a 20-minute presentation.”
• Policy and industry research: Around a policy direction or industry topic, gather information from multiple channels and organize it into a structured research report.
  • Example: “Research this industry’s recent developments and compile an analysis report.”
• Lansenger collaboration: Send notices to designated groups via Lansenger, look up contacts by name, and view and manage schedules — collaboration without leaving your current workflow.
  • Example: “Send a message to the project group in Lansenger: meeting tomorrow at 3 PM.”
• Batch file processing: Batch renaming, format conversion, rule-based archiving — hand repetitive file operations over to automation.
  • Example: “Rename the files in this folder by date and archive them into the corresponding directories.”

How to Describe a Task

There’s no fixed format for giving LanMate a task. Make these three things clear, and you’ll get more accurate results:

1. What to do: State the task type, e.g., “write a notice,” “analyze this data,” “make a PPT.”
2. Who it’s for and who it involves: State the audience, group, or contact, e.g., “for the whole department,” “send to the project group,” “find Zhang San.”
3. Specific requirements: State key points, constraints, and the deliverable format, e.g., “keep it within two pages,” “output as a Word document.”

For example: “Draft a team-building plan for the whole department, aimed at improving team collaboration, with a budget of no more than ¥200 per person, delivered as a Word document.”

When files are involved, upload them as attachments along with your message. LanMate reads and processes them in the local sandbox — file contents never leave your device.

Getting and Starting

1. Go to the download page on the LanMate website and download the installer for your platform.
2. Follow the system prompts to complete installation, then launch LanMate.
3. Sign in with your Lansenger account.
4. You can start using LanMate once your organization completes the related configuration. If it’s temporarily unavailable, contact your organization’s administrator to check the configuration progress.

After signing in, describe what you need in natural language in the input box and press Enter to send (Shift+Enter for a new line). LanMate starts executing the task and delivers the result to you.
