Interface and Right-Side Toolbar
Main layout
The LanMate window has three main areas:
- Left sidebar: work-mode switcher, New Task, Experts, Scheduled Tasks, Task Board, conversation history, and the user menu.
- Main area: the current conversation, Expert page, Scheduled Tasks, Task Board, or another selected view.
- Right workspace: task information, files, outputs, and collaboration progress for the current conversation.
You can collapse both side areas. On a wide window, drag the left edge of the right workspace to resize it. On a narrow window, the workspace opens as a drawer.
Toolbar on the right of a conversation header
After you open a conversation, its header shows shortcuts that apply to the current task:
| Shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|
| Question directory | Jumps to a question you asked earlier in the conversation |
| Model usage | Shows context usage, model usage, and cache information for the conversation |
| Session trajectory | Replaces the message view with a searchable execution history for reviewing each turn |
| Git status | Appears in Coding mode for a Git project and opens the code review view |
| Task panel | Opens or collapses the right workspace |
The available buttons vary with the work mode, project type, and current task.
Multi-tab workspace on the right
The right workspace opens on Task Panel, which summarizes task outputs, used skills, and reference pages. Select + in its tab bar to add other tools:
| Tab | What it does |
|---|---|
| File Manager | Browses files in the current cloud workspace and previews or edits supported formats |
| Side Chat | Starts a separate short conversation without interrupting the main task |
| Subagents | Shows the status and details of delegated subtasks |
| Task Board | Shows task items for this conversation; it is separate from the global Task Board in the left sidebar |
| Git Review | Shows changes and line-by-line comparisons for Git projects in Coding mode |
| Design Canvas | Creates and edits visual design content in Design mode |
Output previews, goals, and individual subagent details can also open automatically as separate tabs. A single-instance tool already open does not appear again in the + menu.
Working with tabs and previews
- Select a tab name to switch content. Scroll the tab strip horizontally when it contains many tabs.
- Use the full-screen control on the active tab to focus on it, then select the control again to exit full screen.
- All tabs except the default Task Panel can be closed. Closing Side Chat also deletes that side conversation and asks for confirmation first.
- Select a file or output to preview it. Use Download or Save As when you need a copy on your computer.
Availability in the cloud client
This client works through your organization’s cloud workspace. The + menu therefore does not offer a local terminal or a built-in local browser. To work with a website, describe the task in the conversation and let LanMate use its cloud web capabilities.
